z/Scope enables you to activate or deactivate several part of the system, to personalize the interface and adjust z/Scope to your specifical needs.

 

To activate or deactivate plugins visit the following section:

 

Plugins Configuration

 

Below is a list of all the current plugins available, together with an explanation:

 

 

3270

This plugin enables access to all connections of the tn3270 protocol type. By deactivating this plugin you will not be able to create or view connections of this type. It will also hide 3270 connections marked as Favorites in the Favorites list.

 

 

5250

This plugin enables access to all connections of the tn5250 protocol type. By deactivating this plugin you will not be able to create or view connections of this type. It will also hide 5250 connections marked as Favorites in the Favorites list.

 

 

VT

This plugin enables access to all connections of the vt protocol type. By deactivating this plugin you will not be able to create or view connections of this type. It will also hide vt connections marked as Favorites in the Favorites list.

 

 

FTP

This plugin enables access to FTP connections. By deactivating this plugin you will not be able to create or view connections of this type. It will also hide FTP connections marked as Favorites in the Favorites list.

 

 

Printer

This plugin enables the printer emulation for tn3270 or tn5250 hosts. By disabling this plugin you will not be able to view printer-only connections; you will not be able to emulate the printer for printer-and-display connections type; and you will not be able to configure printer-only or printer-and-display connections type.

 

 

Favorites

This plugin gives you access to the Favorites list. By disabling this plugin you will not be able to visualize the Favorites list or add connections, web sites or Feeds to it.

As a side effect, you would be deactivating the Browser plugin with it, since the browser can only be accessed from the Favorites list for the moment.

 

 

Browser

This plugin allows you to view web sites without leaving the z/Scope interface. By disabling this plugin you will not be able to access any web page from the z/Scope interface. It will also hide web pages marked as Favorites in the Favorites list.

 

 

Start Panel

This plugin allows you to be able to see the Start Page at your convenience. Deactivating this plugin will hide the start page not only on start but during all the time the plugin is disabled.

 

 

Settings

This plugin allows you to see configuration options. Deactivating this plugin will block access to all the configuration. This action cannot be reversed and it's intended for use only through SMS to restrict user access to options.

 

Editor

This plugin allows you to be able to see and use Code Editor options when using z/Scope Workbench. The code Editor for Mainframe, AS/400 and Unix files supports JCL, RPG/IV (also FREE & SQL), COBOL, CL, ASM370, CLIST, DDS, REXX, MACRO ASSEMBLER, JAVA, PHP, HTML, XML, ASP, C/C++ and other programming languages.

 

 

NOTE: Deactivation of a plugin does not mean that the information they hold disappears, only that it becomes invisible to the user until it's activated again.
