Status Bar

The Status Bar gives you real-time information about the status of several relevant parameters of the current Workspace. The information displayed in the Status Bar is visible to the user at all time, thus providing a constant update on several useful parameters and settings.

The status bar is divided into five areas, as described below:

 

Session Status

Shows information about the status of the current session. When working with secure protocols such as SSL or TLS, information on those features is also shown here.

 

System/Input Status

Shows the current status the system, such as wait states. This panel also indicates whether the terminal is currently accepting user input or not.

 

Insert/Overwrite Mode

Indicates text insertion mode. In 'Overwrite' mode, new characters will overwrite existing ones. In 'Insert' mode, new characters will be inserted in the selected position without overwriting the existing ones. To switch between these modes, use the 'Insert' key in your keyboard.

 

Cursor Screen-Coordinates

These are the actual screen coordinates of the cursor. The first number refers to the current row, and the second one to the current column.

 

Messages Area

This area is used by z/Scope to return additional information to the user.
